Long John Silver
I’m stranded here
An islet in the sea of nowhere
Somewhere past the Cape of no hope
Still casting a sail cos I can’t give up
There are monsters here
My harpoons are rusty and no rope
& on & on & on past oblivion
Half life, no life, new life,
Who knows?
Treasures buried
Maps lost
Burning pyres
Sacrificed Gods
& El dorado
Gold dust bodies
Naked beauty
And new disease
I came here for something
And now I forget…
I came here to forget myself
I succeeded and
Now who’s this?
The mask beneath the mask revealed
Disgusting...
Wash it clean
One more time
Have mercy on me
Once more
Beneath all the masks
Is a light
I can’t see
But I know
Somehow.
